Jim Hill High School is one of seven high schools in the Jackson Public Schools District in Jackson, MS.

This band is a proud cornerstone of the West Jackson community.

Our band has consistently received Superior and Excellent Ratings at both marching and concert evaluations.  

The Jim Hill High School Marching Tiger Band of Distinction is highly requested and currently has 150 members that perform music spanning genres that range from classical, funk, jazz, hip-hop, to R&B.  

The "Marching Tiger Band of Distinction" is well known and recognized throughout the southeastern region of the United States, participating in parades, festivals, competitions, and “Battles of the Bands” in territories that include Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, Texas, Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida.  

In addition, the symphonic and concert bands have been just as successful, receiving Superior and Excellent Ratings for much of the last two decades.  Our students experience a well-rounded scope of literature during both the fall and spring semesters.

     Students during the last decade have garnered scholarships totaling more the $4,900,000.
